Abstract(in English) NHK conducted a wide-band transmission experiment with the 21GHz-band through broadcasting satellite BSAT-4a at NHK STRL Open House 2019, Setagaya Tokyo, Japan from May 30th to June 2nd. We transmitted the 8K120Hz UHDTV signal which was encoded at about 250Mbps with HEVC/H.265 scheme in the satellite transmission capacity of about 327Mbps, taking advantage of the broadband characteristics of 21GHz-band. In this paper, we show the overview of the transmission experiment and the interface device we developed to transmit IP stream through broadcast satellite and discuss the C/N margin attained in the received side. We also report that the stable 8K120Hz satellite transmission was achieved in the transmission experiment.
