Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This presentation studies wireless mesh networks using drones for emergency communication systems during large-scaledisasters. In the systems, construction of the wireless mesh networks inthe sky can keep line-of-sight (LoS) among wireless nodes, and thencovers the disaster stricken area effectively. I present flight modelsthat achieve small transmission delay while keeping the smaller numberof drones when the wireless mesh networks are used as backbone networks. The flight models support autonomous operations that do not need complexconfigurations. The performance is evaluated taking account of theinfluence of drones' stop due to their battery exhaustion and theinclination of flying drones. In addition, I present the relationshipbetween flight altitude and the communication area considering LoSrange, and the investigation of a channel model from measurement resultsof received signal strength indicator (RSSI).
