Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the first half of this report, we evaluate long-term statistics of the largest rainfall data in each year concerning daily rainfall, hourly rainfall and 10-minute rainfall in Tokyo and Osaka as representative of big cities with large temperature rise due to overlapping of global warming and heat island phenomenon. The rainfall data utilized here are those acquired at the Japan Meteorological Agency observation stations for more than one hundred years. In the latter half of the report, using long-term data of 18 sites in relatively heavy rainfall areas, recurrence interval characteristics as a function of year are evaluated. Finally, based on the results, we will try the worst year prediction of rainfall on a scale of 100 to 1000 years.
