[Poster Presentation] Research on Optimal Design of Mobile Video Streaming Service

Abstract(in English) The number of mobile video streaming service users is skyrocketing with the spread of smart phones. CDN (Content Delivery Network) technology is usually utilized in the mobile video streaming service, in which a requested video content has to be Cached in a CDN server in the vicinity of the user. When the video content cannot be Cached properly in a mobile environment, delay in content availability occurs and it might degrade quality of user experience for the service. In this study, we focus on a running train mobile environment and propose a method to improve utilization efficiency of CDN servers. In the proposed method, we predict user behavior by use of prepaid IC cards for public transportation.
