Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Light emitting diode (LED) lamps have become wide spread in clinical settings. Switched-mode power supplies built in LED lamp radiate electromagnetic noise and may interfere with wireless communications. We evaluated time domain envelope of electromagnetic noise radiated from LED tubes. In our previous research revealed that most of electromagnetic noise radiated from LED bulbs were in good agreement with Gaussian noise with same power when the electromagnetic noise was band-limited to the narrow bandwidth of wireless medical telemeter. However, most of electromagnetic noise radiated from LED tubes were in disagreement with this noise. The impulsive correction factor (ICF) is needed to use Gaussian approximation. The critical reception of wireless medical telemeter subjected to interference by LED tube installation was investigated. The required carrier to noise ratio of electromagnetic noise radiated from LED tube is higher than Gaussian noise. We measured spatial distribution of electromagnetic noise and estimated rough indication of the offset distance required between the receiving antenna of a wireless medical telemeter and an LED tube.
