Viewing-abandonment-factor Estimation for Adaptive Bitrate Video Streaming

Abstract(in English) Recently, adaptive bitrate video streaming services have spread widely. However, in spite of realizing smoother playback by controlling the delivered bitrate dynamically, viewing abandanment behaviors still occur due to quality degradations and the lack of interest in contents. In this paper, we conducted experiments to investigate viewing abandonment behaviors, and developed a model that estimate viewing-abandonment-factors based on the features about application quality, users’ manipulations, and content.
