A Study on Optical Wireless Code Shift Keying Using Pseudo-Orthogonal Extended Einarsson Code

Abstract(in English) As one of the multilevel modulation systems, the optical-wireless code shift keying (CSK) system, which utilizes the several pseudo noise (PN) codes, has been investigated. The optical-wireless CSK system using extended Einarsson codes were investigated. It can be expected to improve the information transmission efficiency of the CSK system by combining the Einarsson code with the orthogonal code set. In this paper, as the optical PN code BEEC, which combines EEC with the Manchester coded bi-orthogonal code, is used. Also, for the optical-wireless CSK system using BEEC, two demodulation schemes are considered; one-step demodulation, that prepares only the correlators with BEEC as reference code, and two-step demodulation, that prepares the correlators with EEC and bi-orthogonal code as reference code. When the code length is constant, it is clarified that the bit error rate performance of the CSK system using BEEC is better than that of the CSK system using EEC. Moreover, in the CSK system using BEEC, the bit error rate performance of the two-step demodulation scheme is better than that of the one-step demodulation scheme.
