| Abstract(in English) | We conducted an experiment with twenty-four nonce regular verbs and tested in a writing format for the negative form and with a multiple choice format for the te-form. From the result, we propose that native speakers of Japanese would recognise verbs with -ru ending as consonant-stem verbs not vowel-stem verbs when encountered for the first time. |
