Abstract(in English) | The upcoming IoT society is expected to increase the amount of data to be exchanged among wireless communication devices with their content largely diversified. When supporting these data with a limited radio resource, such as frequency and energy, it is crucial to design data-oriented communication control considering the attribute of supported data. In this paper, as an example of data-oriented communication control, we discuss data-oriented wake-up control for wireless sensor networks. With data collections employing wake-up control, each sensor node is transited to a sleep mode during idle period, which is remotely activated when sensing data is requested by a data collection node. In order to reduce the energy consumption of overall network, it is required for a data collection node to only activate sensor nodes that have its desired data. In this paper, we introduce content-based wake-up control for wireless sensor networks, which can realize remote wake-up of sensor nodes according to their sensed data, and discuss its efficiency. |
