Abstract(in English) A new velocity analysis algorithm for Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is investigated. GPR provides the common mid-point (CMP) profile for various purposes, especially velocity analysis. However, due to the limitation of the site and hardware, GPR detection for the civil engineering object cannot acquire dense CMP profiles, which degrades the velocity estimation accuracy. To improve the performance, Radial Basis Function (RBF) neural network based interpolation method is presented to offer denser CMP data before the velocity analysis. The proposed algorithm is applied to the measured data of wall glass wool padding, which originally contains 32 channels and is acquired by a linear array GPR system whose working frequency is from 10 to 20GHz. The velocity spectrum generated by the interpolated data has up to 50% narrower velocity estimation range than the result obtained by the raw sparse data.
