Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Controller area network (CAN) is widely used for in-vehicle networks. In recent years, CAN with flexible data-rate (CAN FD) achieves higher data rate than CAN and is attracting attention a next-generation in-vehicle communication standard. However, the number of nodes is very limited for higher-rate CAN FD because the upper limit is defined as two nodes for CAN FD with $5$ Mbps in SAE J2284 standards. In this manuscript, by using VHDL-AMS simulator SaberRD, we construct a passive star network and emulate the CAN FD signaling on the CAN bus generated from two different CAN transceivers and two different CAN node architectures. We measure the received signals at the front-ends of the CAN transceivers and the received signals at the front-ends of the CAN controllers via the hysteresis comparators for several transmission rates. The simulation results reveal the effects of the hysteresis comparators to detect bits based on the observed signal waveforms.
