Performance Evaluation of Integrated Access and Backhaul-based Cellular System with Dynamic Full-duplex

Abstract(in English) Along with the increasing demands on V2X (Vehicle-to-everything) communication systems, an IAB (Integrated Access and Backhaul)-based new cellular system has been studied in 3GPP. In the IAB-based system, a car regarded as a relay node collects data from in-vehicle and peripheral devices via AL (Access Link) and transmits them to Donor (i.e., base station) via BL (Backhaul Link). In this paper, we propose a DDC (Dynamic full-Duplex Cellular)-IAB system that dynamically assigns AL communication to BL subframes at the same frequency without degrading existing BL communication quality. We also evaluate performance of the proposed DDC-IAB system in a multi-cell environment under a dense urban scenario by system level simulation and demonstrate the potential of the improvement of spectral efficiency.
