Abstract(in English) | In recent years, effective utilization of biological signals from the brain activity has been progressing in medical science and industrial applications. The brain activity can be considered as circuit network activity in the gray matter, and a small current is then generated in the corresponding area. The electric signals caused by this current can be measured as brain waves on scalp. Lead field matrix (LFM) is often used to estimate the brain activity. This is a projection matrix, whose elements are defined as the ratio of current density and observed potential. In this study, we use an LFM construction method based on scalar-potential finite-difference method and an estimation algorithm based on the matching pursuit method as an EEG localization method. By computer simulations, localization performance with regard to the number of simulations for constructing LFM is evaluated. The noise immunity for EEG source localization corresponding to the number of electrodes is also evaluated. From the results, the localization error is within about 1 cm when the number of simulations for constricting LFM is 2000.When we use international 10-10 method, degradation of estimation accuracy suppressed in 7 mm compared with noise-free environment even SNR is equal to 0 dB. We found that it shows good estimation performance in noisy environment by increasing the number of electrodes. |
