Abstract(in English) | As well-known, fail-safe computers are used in railway signalling systems. The fail-safe computers have functions to unify the outputs of multiple CPUs using the voter/comparator circuit with asymmetric failure features. However, the fail-safe computers are limited in processing performance and require the specific hardware. Hence, it is needed to study technologies to realize the fail-safety with general computers. We propose a composite fail-safe design in which conventional fail-safe computers and general computers are connected via a network, targeting the signalling system consisting of many terminals for controlling field devices and a few centralized hosts. In this study, after clarifying the problems in the majority voting over the network, we propose to apply the secret sharing scheme to the transmission system from the centralized host to the terminals for the solution. |
