Demonstration of Reflected Interference Compensation Technique in Single-Wavelength Bidirectional WDM-PON Transmission System

Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a novel cancellation technique of a Fresnel reflected light in single-wavelength bidirectional wavelength division multiplexed passive optical network (WDM-PON) transmission system. We carried out a back-to-back transmission experiment with the proposed system, and confirmed that the degradation of error vector amplitude (EVM) due to interference light could be suppressed. We also confirmed that the proposed method is effective even in a severe reception environment where signal-to-interference power ratio is 3 dB, when the received optical power is -12 dBm or more.
