Octave-spanning optical frequency combs using all polarization-maintaining mode-locked fiber lasers

Abstract(in English) We present here an optical frequency combs consisted of all polarization-maintaining fibers based on a mode-locked laser in the 1.5 μm region. The mode-locked fiber laser is fabricated with a simple ring cavity configuration using a four-port optical circulator. Stable optical soliton pulses generated in the mode-locked fiber laser are observed at a temperature fluctuation up to 20 degrees, suggesting the mode-locked fiber laser has a strong environmental durability. In addition, all polarization-maintaining-optical frequency comb is realized by using erbium doped fibers and highly nonlinear fibers, which generates optical pulses with a flat and broadband spectrum.
