Abstract(in English) A micromagnetic model analysis was carried out for a spin-torque oscillator (STO) inserted into the write head gap for microwave-assisted magnetic recording. We derived the conditions for stable STO oscillation assuming the write head main pole (MP) and trailing shield (TS) gap to be parallel, as a parallel MP ? TS gap is preferable from the viewpoint of the manufacturing process. First, it was shown that the STO oscillated stably when the parallel head gap was tilted (i.e. was not perpendicular) to the medium surface. Next, we showed that the STO oscillated stably for relatively high Gilbert damping constants, α, of the spin injection layer (α = 0.05) and FGL exchange (A = 4.0 × 10-6 erg/cm).
