Abstract(in English) In dental prosthetic treatment, “impression taking”, which is a procedure of taking an impression of repaired dentition, is carried out. Although its technique is learned through clinical training of dental education and clinical experience, there is a problem that instructions of teachers in dental education are usually qualitative and vague. Then the establishment of quantitative-analysis-based instructions is required strongly in dental education. In ordered to solve such problem, we developed an optical motion capture-based system of measuring the position and orientation of the tip of a spouting syringe and the quantity of spouted impression material simultaneously. Preliminary experiences verified that the analytic parameters were able to be measured in an accuracy required in clinical evaluation.
