| Abstract(in English) | This paper presents a new design of miniaturized active integrated antenna (AIA) having oscillation and polarization switching functionality to realize short-range high-speed wireless communications. The antenna is configured of a ring-slot antenna with a length of two wavelengths, four diodes and capacitors on the slot, and a Gunn oscillator. The integration approach of the Gunn oscillator inside the two-wavelength ring-slot antenna provides a solid basis for the miniaturization. While four capacitors are used to divide the ring-slot antenna into four equal segments, four diodes are used as modulators to switch between ?45? polarizations by modulation signals. Proof-of-concept is experimentally validated. It is confirmed that the polarizations are switchable according to the modulation signals and better than 12-dB cross-polarization suppression is obtained. |
