Abstract(in English) | Vital signs of the body are related to mental stress conditions. The variation of the R-R interval (peak-to-peak interval of the heartbeats), in particular, reflects mental stress. Non-contact detection using a Doppler sensor has been extensively studied for heart rate measurement. However, Doppler sensors are highly affected by reflections from surrounding objects or external noise, making accurate acquisition of the R-R interval difficult. To solve this problem, we propose the use of a low-radiation-efficiency VHF-band loop antenna to overcome the above problem. However, the input impedance of this antenna depends on the surrounding conditions relative to its location. In this study, we propose a sensor configuration to control the antenna impedance based on changes in the surrounding conditions, and demonstrate that the proposed configuration improves the sensor sensitivity. |
