Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Applications are not allowed to stop at enterprise system when exchanging IT equipment for maintaining business continuity. In such situation, the host I/O non-disruptive migration technique is used that takeover volume ID from the migration source to the migration target and switch I/O target from the migration source to the migration target and copy data from the migration source to the migration target. In this technique, performance of host I/O response and copy speed are in a trade-off relationship because both host I/O and copy are processed in storage at the same time. Objectives of this research are both suppressing amount of increase of host I/O response and realizing faster copy speed when non-disruptive migration. We propose and develop changing copy throughput method with model by queuing theory. We evaluated proposed method with storage system which simulated migration from HDD storage to SSD storage and found that we can change copy throughput to suppress increasing of I/O response time within 20% and realize 80% of ideal copy speed.
