Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Blockchain technology is extremely important at wireless network edge as it can provide verifiable security and trust mechanisms to end users and, thus, incentivize them to participate in various services. Traditional blockchain is unfeasible in wireless environments as (1) it is based on resource-consuming Proof-of-Work (PoW) technique and (2) create too much messaging overhead. This paper focuses on (2) and proposes that ultrasound broadcasts can be useful to achieve reliable consensus over a wide range of client density. The only assumption is that local context changes gradually over time, which is why more effort is spent when signaling "no" -- that is, when one or more clients trigger an update. The proposal can be easily implemented on commodity smartphones and can be used as verifiable proof for a wide variety of location-aware services at network edge.
