[Invited Lecture] A study on frequency utilization efficiency improvement for Unlicensed LPWA

Abstract(in English) Recently, a lot of IoT devices are connecting to network and rapid glowth of unlicensed LPWA, such as using 920MHz, is expected. There are three issues in practical use of Unlicensed LPWA, for one reason is the packet collision caused by autonomous uplink transmission of IoT devices, and for one reason is the inefficiency for an ACK transmission, and for another is the retransmission method intended for immobile devices. To address these issues, we propose three techniques: 1. The uplink transmission control method in Unlicensed LPWA, 2. The downlink transmission reduction method related to ACK transmission, 3. The retransmission method adequate for IoT use cases. We show the performance evaluation and the simulation results to prove the proposed method improves frequency utilization efficiency.
