Impedance Analysis of Brushless Motors by 3-D Electromagnetic Field Analysis and Equivalent Circuit Analysis

Abstract(in English) In power electric equipment, electromagnetic noise propagated via motors is a major factor in conductive noise. The conductive noise leaking via motors depends on the impedance characteristics of the motors. So, we develop technology for predicting the impedance characteristics of motors at high frequencies by combining electromagnetic field analysis and equivalent circuit analysis. The impedance characteristics of one tooth in the motor are analyzed by 3-D electromagnetic field analysis to reduce the use of computer resources. In electromagnetic field analysis, accuracy of the analysis of impedance characteristics is improved by taking into account capacitive coupling between the laminated silicon sheets in the iron cores. Moreover, the equivalent circuit constants for calculating the impedance characteristics of one tooth in the motor are decided from the electromagnetic field analysis results. Finally, the equivalent circuit of all of the teeth is constructed by combining equivalent circuits to that of one tooth. The impedance characteristics calculated by the equivalent circuits agrees with measured results quantitatively.
