Nonlinear characteristics of bouncing ball system with periodic border

Abstract(in English) A bouncing ball is a simple collision mechanical system and has been studied extensively for several decades. In this study, we investigate the dynamics of a bouncing ball numerically and experimentally. We focus on the maximal heights of the bouncing ball in the stationary state vs frequencies of the vibrating table and clarify that they change stepwise several times when we vary the vibrating table frequencies from 25 to 50[Hz]. Moreover, these significant characteristics can be observed in experimental measurements. Since the observed phenomena are quite simple, they may be universal in a large class of collision dynamics.
