A proposal on propagation environmental control by virtual massive array

Abstract(in English) With the rapid spread of wireless communication devices such as smartphones in recent years, mobile communication traffic is rapidly increasing. Therefore, in the 5th generation mobile communication system, Massive MIMO using a large number of antennas in the base station is attracting attention. However, in Massive MIMO, the problem is that the hardware scale increases as the number of antennas increases. In this report, we propose a propagation environment control method that realizes virtual massive array with a few antennas by forming multiple antenna patterns at high speed in one symbol. We also clarify the basic performance and effects of the proposed method.
