Sidelobe Suppression in a Corporate-feed Waveguide Slot Array Antenna consisting of 2×2-element Radiating Units

Abstract(in English) We have suppressed sidelobe level in the tilted direction between 30-40 deg. in Taylor radiation pattern by using a slit layer in the corporate-feed waveguide slot array antenna consisting of 2x2-element radiating units. Differences are observed in the suppression among only E-plane, only H-plane and both E and H-planes. In the E-plane suppression, the gap width in the slit is small, however two slit layers are required to suppress the reflection in the radiating element. In the H-plane suppression, one slit layer is sufficient to suppress the reflection, however the gap width in the slit should be large. The EH-plane suppression is achieved by combing the structures for the E and H-plane suppressions, however the amplitude taper in the H-plane causes the currents on the silts for the E-plane suppression so that cuts should be introduced on these slits to suppress the currents.
