Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The ratio of wide area network (WAN) communication become huge in the power consumption of mobile terminals, and power saving of communication is strongly required. To address this issue, we proposed a framework for achieving power saving of communication by establishing a dynamic tethering network for mobile terminals in the neighborhood, and evaluated using a real terminal. As a result of evaluation experiment, it is clear that power saving can be realized up to 47% by the terminal coordination framework. Since this framework is based on the idea of mutual assistance where terminals with good battery capacity and terminals with good radio propagation characteristics (RSRP) from base stations mutually support each other, the problem of free rider terminals can be considered. Therefore, in this research, we surveyed free tank concept of Mineo, which mutually support each other from the viewpoint of communication capacity by donating the monthly packet remaining amount of the line contract to a common free tank. Based on the survey results, we examined the validity of the proposed battery tank concept.
