Abstract(in English) A novel coherent detection technique based on phase retrieval is introduced. A 2-D arrayed photodetector with a novel discreteness-aware phase-retrieval algorithm enables coherent detection of 10-Gbaud polarization multiplexed QPSK signals without using any local lights, polarization beam splitters, or optical 90-degree hybrids.
