Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Animal guard fencing is a way of the effective prevention of harmful wild animals which cause nearly twenty billion yen in damage every year. In particular, polyethylene net fencing is sometimes adopted for the purpose of cost reduction because the installation cost of polyethylene net fencing is a third of the price than that of metallic fence. However, the maintenance cost becomes another problem in that case since the net is subject to breakage through which animals often try to intrude into the fence. We study on a method to detect the impact which may break the fence by using accelerometers in order to ease the burden of inspection around the polyethylene net fencing. It is important for determining the value of parameters of accelerometers to know the characteristics of vibration and propagation on its flexible net regarding its installation environment. In this paper, we show such characteristics we obtained from our field experiment and evaluate the fitness for use of the method by conducting vibration cause estimation by XGBoost.
