Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to achieve high energy-efficiency of wireless sensor networks (WSNs), on-demand WSNs has been proposed, where a wake-up receiver operating with ultra-low power consumption is applied to each sensor node. As a wake-up control for on-demand WSNs, content-based wake-up(CoWu)has been proposed, where sensor nodes storing specific sensing information are selectively woken up with wake-up signaling, adapting to the desired condition set by a data collection node. In this paper, focusing on distributed parameter estimations in on-demand WSNs, we consider estimating parameters of the distribution of observed data with a certain required accuracy. In this estimation, we can reduce the number of sensor nodes to be activated by collecting data from minimum number of sensor nodes to achieve the required accuracy. Therefore, by exploiting the advantage of CoWu described above, we propose a parameter estimation method that collects data only from sensor nodes storing data contributing to the improvement of estimation accuracy. With computer simulations, we compare the estimation accuracy and energy consumption of the proposed method with those of the conventional wake-up control, and investigate the effectiveness of our proposed method.
