Abstract(in English)	This report introduces general information such as overview, features etc. of “Department of Electrical & Information Systems” of Osaka Prefecture University. Research on optical fiber communication technologies in this department is also described. Furthermore, I introduce the Osaka University's unique incentive program, which is useful for working people to obtain a doctoral degree.
