Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Research and development of cladding pumped multicore erbium-doped fiber amplifiers has been advanced for achieving long-distance multi-core optical fiber transmission system. Because the multiple cores of the fiber amplifier share the same pump light, pump depletion change due to the change in input signal power in a particular core may affect the gain in the other cores, which introduce inter-core cross-gain modulation. In this report, we investigate the gain change due to inter-core gain-modulation on cladding pumped multicore erbium-doped fiber amplifiers whose number of cores are 7 to 37 by using the average inversion level model.
