Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, internet traffic has been increasing, and Nyquist optical time division multiplexing (N-OTDM) transmission using optical Nyquist pulses is being considered in order to realize large-capacity transmission. It is difficult to generate short Nyquist pulses directly using the response time of the optical modulator and the electrical signal, and N-OTDM requires a Nyquist pulse source to generate and detect the signal. At present, a Nyquist pulse source using an optical pulse shaping filter has been proposed. In this study, we propose a method for generating Nyquist pulses based on the nonlinear effect in a highly nonlinear fiber without complex optical system as an optical pulse shaping filter and mode-locked laser. Moreover, we investigate appropriate fiber parameters of fibers and input signal for our proposed method by numerical simulation.
