Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) To operate drones in non-line-of-sight (NLOS) areas, live video streaming is required for operators to monitor around the drones. Frequency bands have been assigned for video streaming from robots, e.g. drones. However, the frequency bands will not be enough if many drones are operated in the same airspace. To resolve this issue, the authors and collaborators had developed a technology that accommodates video streamings from multiple drones in a frequency channel. This paper reports a result of a demonstration test. In the test, we confirmed that three drones can stream videos in a frequency channel with maintaining the video quality of a region-of-interest (ROI) by using an adaptive video streaming method based on throughput prediction and scalable video coding.
