Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This study presents an investigation on human exposure to electromagnetic waves at millimeter wave bands. A Monte Carlo simulation was conducted to assess the temperature elevation due to exposure with oblique incident plane wave considering the variation of a multi-layer human skin tissue thickness. The temperature elevation was calculated by solving the analytical formula of the bio-heat equation. We clarified the relationship between the temperature elevation and different definitions of power densities considering various exposure conditions. This work is valuable to specify the dosimetric quantities of exposure limits in safety guidelines and standards to protect humans from excessive temperature elevation.
