Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Vehicle-to-Vehicle communication can be used for enabling smooth lane changes by cooperation of vehicles even if suddenly an obstacle such as a dropped payload appears without causing congestion. We conducted simulations using SUMO urban traffic simulator and present that V2V-communication enabled autonomous vehicles or vehicles with driving assistance function can improve the total traffic with keeping the fairness between the closed lane and the opened lane by using a simple control rule based on the distance between each vehicle and the obstacle. We also propose an improved method in which vehicles on an opened lane aggressively control inter-vehicular distance for controlling the number of vehicles which change lane.
