Abstract(in English) | The ultra-high density deployment of small cells is being considered as a way of increasing the bandwidth of user equipment(UE) in the next generation mobile communication system (5G). To achieve cost-effective mobile fronthaul (MFH), we have proposed a low-latency TDM-PON using a cooperative dynamic bandwidth allocation (CO-DBA). In 5G networks, several functional split points between a central unit (CU) and distributed units (DUs) have been discussed and those split points have been classified into several categories, e.g. lower layer split (LLS), higher layer split (HLS). Each LLS-MFH and HLS-MFH has different latency requirement. The co-existing of various base stations on a TDM-PON enables us to construct further cost-effective networks. In this paper, we propose bandwidth allocation scheme of co-existing HLS/LLS base stations, and describe the result of the time spent for DBA calculation and upstream latency by the prototype. |
