An Automatic Control Algorithm for User-Assisted QoS Control in Audiovisual and Haptic Interactive IP Communications

Abstract(in English) In this report, we propose a simplified QoS control method as an algorithm for the automatic mode of the user-assisted QoS control scheme for QoE enhancement in audiovisual and haptic interactive IP communications. The scheme enables users to select desirable services. The scheme consists of two modes: a manual mode and an automatic mode. Users can switch these two modes according to their inclinations. The previous study employs a QoS control method by QoE estimation for the automatic mode. However, it has a considerable cost to establish models for QoE estimation. Thus, we employ the simplified QoS control method, which utilizes application-level QoS. Through a subjective experiment, we show the effectiveness of the user-assisted QoS control scheme with the simplified QoS control method for QoE enhancement.
