Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Recently, edge computing (EC) has attracted attention to the spread of Internet of Things (IoT). EC places resources in communication buildings closer to the user than cloud computing (CC), so that it is a technology that can alleviate the delay service and the bandwidth of the network to the CC. However, the operation cost is high as the resource amount of each communication building is small and resources are spread in a wide area compared with CC. EC also requires data backup for large-scale disasters such as earthquakes and tsunami and so on. However, as IoT devices send a huge amount of data, backing up the data to CC causes the bandwidth shortage of EC. Therefore, it is desirable to back up data using communication buildings in EC. In this paper, we propose a method of selecting data backup destination assuming large-scale disasters at EC. To utilize disaster information predicted beforehand such as seismic intensity and tsunami area, a storage capacity of each communication building of EC, and network information such as the number of hops between communication buildings, it is possible to efficiently utilize resources while protecting data against disasters. We report the effectiveness of the proposed method. |
