A Study on Integrated Performance Evaluation of SmartBAN

Abstract(in English) This study performs integrated performance evaluation, including preamble detection in the Smart Body Area Networks (SmartBAN) physical layer (PHY) using the ITU-T Rec. H.223 16-bit flag. In addition, cross-layer performance evaluation between the PHY and the MAC layer is performed. Numerical results by the computer simulation show that the allowable delay time, and the number of nodes achieving the maximum throughput in the random access period using the Slotted ALOHA protocol in addition to the effectiveness of the ITU-T Rec. H.223 16-bit flag.
