Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we apply Gaussian belief propagation (GaBP) to the multi-user detection (MUD) in massive sparse code multiple access (SCMA) and clarify that the detection capability is further improved by adaptively scaled belief (ASB). When optimizing SCMA for GaBP detection, the intensity of the odd and even elements of the belief propagating between GaBP iteration is biased. Surprisingly, the bias of the belief helps in suppressing modeling errors of the prior belief, and improves bit error rate (BER) performance. However, in severe overload condition, even with the above method, the detection capability of GaBP is significantly degraded due to the modeling error of the prior belief. Therefore, we consider applying adaptively scale belief (ASB) which is known to be capable of remarkably suppressing the error floor of BER performance while giving the bias to the belief in SCMA-GaBP. Finally, computer simulation results confirm the validity of our proposed method.
