[Invited Talk] End-to-End link state monitoring methods for Flex Ethernet

Abstract(in English) Growing diversity of application in datacenter has driven the standardization of Flex Ethernet in OIF to meet the demand of accommodating traffic derived from wide variety of applications flexibly and efficiently. The Flex Ethernet realized flexible logical links between router and optical terminal by bundling multiple standardized fixed-rate Ethernet links at PCS layer. However, especially from the viewpoint of carrier, there are some rooms for improvements in terms of link state monitoring. In this report, we review our activities on improvement of Flex Ethernet link monitoring; a method for link monitoring by the clients that are accommodated in Flex Ethernet, and a method that identifies the link span and accommodated client that are affected by the degradation of transmission quality in the mid-/long-distance Flex Ethernet link including OTN.
