Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) HTTP adaptive streaming (HAS) technology has been paid much attention with the increase of demand for video contents. In HAS systems, various factors influence user’s quality of experience (QoE).In this paper, we propose a quality selection method for QoE enhancement in HAS systems.By taking the segment size of multiple segments into quality selection, the proposed method suppresses stalling and number of quality level switchings without decreasing average bitrate, which are influence factors of QoE.We implement the proposed method on HAS system and evaluate QoE performance by using the objective QoE metrics. We confirm that the proposed method is effective to improve QoE performance.
