Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a method for person re-identification (ReID). Conventional methods have utilized appearance features of individual target to perform ReID. However, we assume that it is difficult to extract discriminative image features from an image of individual. Our assumption suggests that it would be difficult to enhance the accuracy of ReID only using individual image features. To address this problem, we simultaneously exploit individual and group appearance features for ReID. Assuming that the observation areas of cameras are spatially close with each other, groups would be consistently observed between cameras. Since appearance features of groups provide us richer information than that of individual, we consider that the resulting performance of ReID can be further improved. Experiments using public dataset demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
