Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In Adaptive Bit Rate (ABR) utilized in MPEG-DASH (MPEG Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP), there are three representative algorithms, rate/throughput-based, buffer-based and hybrid-based method. On the other hand, CCN/NDN has been widely studied for efficient content distribution including video streaming. In CCN/NDN, routers are equipped with cache storage and can provide cached video contents instead of original content servers. By downloading from these cached contents in the routers, a user can quickly download the video contents, which might lead to misunderstanding download throughput. This inaccurate information of throughput brings inappropriate bitrate selection of ABR algorithm running on the user's application and significant reduction of QoE (Quality of Experience) performance. In this paper, from the viewpoint of QoE, we evaluate the influence of in-network caches on each ABR algorithm in video streaming in CCN/NDN.
