Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, applications using DC high voltage are increasing. In the DC circuit, there is a method called "magnetic blow-out" which extinguishes arc discharge occurring in the electrical contacts by applying a magnetic flux. In the experiment, the current changes in the range of 1 to 30 A. The voltage E is DC 100 V, the magnetic flux density is set to 0 mT, 5 mT, and 10 mT. In addition, the breaking speed of the electrical contact is constant at 100 mm / s. The contact materials are W (tungsten) and Ag (silver). The arc duration time ta and the arc energy Ea were obtained from the arc waveform. Furthermore, the change in the Lorentz force at the magnetic flux density set from the arc current waveform and the gap length at that time was calculated. As a result, ta decreased irrespective of the current when a magnetic field was applied. In the case of 10 mT, it was found that ta increases when the current is below a certain constant current. From this, the relationship between ta and the Lorentz force was estimated.
