Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | The resting brain activity is expected to be applied to rehabilitation. functional magnetic resonance imaging study confirmed the influence of motor learning on resting brain activity. In this study, resting brain activity was measured using functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS), which can measure brain activity easily. Purpose of this research was to detect and examine the brain activity change at rest from the fNIRS signal in the short-term motor learning process. In the experiment, the subject performed motor learning for sequential finger movements. In addition, brain activity at rest was measured before and after motor learning. Based on the graph theory, brain network characteristics were calculated and evaluated from measured fNIRS signals. Results of the analysis confirmed that the local characteristics of the brain network changed with the motor learning, and the tendency that the number of network hubs after learning increased compared with before learning was also confirmed. |
