Image analysis method in data collection system for analog meter

Abstract(in English) We propose an image analysis in data collection system for analog meter (hereinafter, this is called “instrument”). The equipment that operates the data collection system shall be a power-saving embedded equipment. Capture images of instrument with markers installed. Detect the position and attitude of the instrument in the image by analyzing the acquired image. By using markers, calculation stability of position and orientation information is improved. From various evaluations, it was suggested that influence on reading accuracy can be kept small while giving great flexibility to camera position if calibration can be performed accurately. The sensor node of the constructed system was driven with a battery of 2600 mAh, and when we read the meter value once every 3 hours, we obtained a trial calculation that it is possible to operate continuously for a period of less than 3 and a half years.
