Improvement in travel time prediction based on linear regression models

Abstract(in English) In the case of the database of the Japan Digital Road Map Association, there are 1.54 million road links even in Japan's basic road (prefectural road or main road 5.5m wide or more). When creating a regression model for each road link, it is desirable to use a linear model from the viewpoint of learning time. In order to improve prediction accuracy while using a linear model, we appled our knowledge on congestion phenomenon to regression. We report a new method to predict by classifying congestion phenomena into plural.
